SIAH Joins REAP Exchange Programme with Forma’terra in Saint-Paul, Réunion
From 22 to 29 June 2024, two learners and two field assistants from the Seychelles Institute of Agriculture and Horticulture (SIAH) took part in an exchange programme with Forma’terra, an agricultural school in Saint-Paul, Réunion.
The visit formed part of the ongoing exchange programme between the Regional Exchange in Agriculture Programme (REAP) and SIAH, established under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2016. Its main goal was to give SIAH learners and staff the opportunity to explore and learn about best practices in agricultural development in Réunion.
During their stay, the group toured a range of agricultural facilities, including the Centre de Coopération Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement, the Research Institute in Saint-Pierre, the Lycée Agricole de Saint-Joseph, and La Coccinelle.
Both staff and learners described the exchange as highly beneficial, enhancing their knowledge and providing fresh ideas and methods well suited for implementation at SIAH.
