Forma’terra Delegation Visits Seychelles for REAP Exchange Programme

📅 16 – 30 November 2024  |  📍 Mahé, Seychelles  |  REAP Exchange Programme
Forma'terra delegation from Réunion during the REAP exchange visit to Seychelles

The Forma’terra REAP exchange with SIAH reached a new milestone when, from 16 to 30 November 2024, a delegation of nine participants from the REAP programme – two lecturers and seven learners from Réunion – travelled to Seychelles to conduct agricultural research under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between SIAH and Forma’terra.

The study focused mainly on financial challenges, environmental constraints, and technological advancements in the agricultural field. As part of their research, the delegation visited several farms in Mahé, where they collected the necessary data.

The visit built on the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, giving the visiting lecturers and learners direct exposure to Seychelles’ agricultural context. Working across several farms in Mahé, the group examined how financial challenges, environmental constraints, and technological advancements shape farming in the islands.

Exchanges of this kind are central to the wider collaboration between the two institutions, allowing knowledge and research experience to flow in both directions and strengthening the partnership between Réunion and Seychelles.

The learners presented their findings on 29 November before the French Ambassador, Principal Secretary Mr. Keven Nancy, members of the SIAH Board of Directors, and other relevant stakeholders.
